Hi, Amy,

If you want to buy a small packet of seeds from me, go to http://www.chiativity.org/2008/02/free-samples-fo.html and order through paypal.

But I'm sure you can find chia seed in your local health food store. They will germinate and grow. And you'll have surplus to eat.

Also, you might want to get in touch with these folks: http://deborahsmall.wordpress.com/2008/11/23/more-on-thistle-chia/
They are growing your Californian native species of chia and may have a source of seeds.

Good luck!

I'm hoping that Margaret reads this post, because I am interested in growing chia seeds here in my yard in the East Bay, CA. Are you still sending seeds to people? Thanks for this blog.
Take care.

Unfortunately they froze last night 11/11. No seeds. Next year I hope to start a few Chia early, with tomatoes and peppers, inside.
